At the beginning of November 1997, the Varsity soccer coach, Mary Hughes, started a soccer team for anybody interested in playing on an indoor soccer team. The team plays every Sunday at an indoor soccer center in Baldwinsville. The team competes in a 19-and-under recreational league. The girls who play on the team are Amber Badore, Michelle Coffey, Jessica Gilley, Christina Norris, Colleen Familo, Lindsay Burnatowski, Shannon Kiefer, Bridget Kiefer, Stacy Babbitt, and Randi Hughes . The girls are trying to improve their skills so they can build a better soccer team for the school and for the upcoming years. All of the teams that the JV and Varsity soccer teams go up against play year round with their school teams . So in order to compete with those teams, the girls must do the same thing and try to play year round. So hopefully with the start of this indoor team the JV and Varsity soccer teams will be able to compete with the teams they play against, and also win a lot more games this upcoming season. A spring league will be starting soon. There will be two indoor teams, a 16-and-under and a 19-and-under. If you are interested in playing you can contact Mary Hughes or any of the girls listed above.
