Community Connections
Community Connections specializes in providing training in everyday skills to individuals with disabilities. Services focus on supporting and assisting individuals in becoming more aware of available community options, making choices, and exploring social, recreational and vocational opportunities within the community. Specific programs include teaching about bus routes, money management and exploring vocational options.

Services to individuals benefit from Community Connections through this program through the training they receive in much needed life skills. These skills help to foster independence and ensure that these individuals are making positive contributions to their lives and the community.

Without the skills fostered through this program, many of these clients would be unable to hold a job or participate actively in society. The program helps clients to understand and function within the area.
A Success Story
A young woman recently out of high school needed to become more aware of her community and the choices available to her as an adult. She was referred to Community Connections and provided support and assistance in developing life skills to become more independent. In the mornings, she works with Community Connections on such areas as money management, community safety awareness, using public transportation and other skills in order to become more independent; both socially and vocationally, In the afternoons, she works at her part time job, learning specific job skills to help her become a more productive worker.
